Introduction of Pusan New Port Project - Hub Port in Northeast Asia

Located in the southeast Korea, Port of Pusan has a natural advantage for harbor; deep water and small tidal difference. It acts as a gateway connecting the Continent of Asia to the Pacific Ocean. Besides, Port of Pusan whose handling capacity is in the third place of the world is situated in the main route of container regular liner service, and it has recently risen to prominence as a most favored transshipment base towards East Russia, Northern China and North-western Japan. This report presents the overview of Pusan New Port Project with related major sites and simultaneously introduces the newly adopted port construction technologies and their major processes, including dredging/reclamation, ground improvement, build-up of large-scale caisson quaywall, and others.
