Natural Gas Hydrate Pellets (NGHPs) can be a medium for sea-borne transportation of natural gas. NGHP carriers will be specialized bulk carriers having gas-tight and insulated tanks. It is indispensable to clarify the necessary safety measures for NGHP carriers to realize such ships. In this paper, we provide essential information on safety requirements for NGHP carriers.
