An Inexpensive Moment of Inertia Experiment

I am always looking for inexpensive and effective equipment that can be used for lab work. I use this experiment in my AP class when we study rotational motion. The objective is for students to compare an experimental value for the moment of inertia of a rotating system with a theoretical value. The setup is an adaptation of the equipment described in an article in the September 1994 issue of The Physics Teacher.
