摘要

The optical properties of an ensemble of metallic nanoparticles in an insulating matrix have been studied in terms of the classical Maxwell Garnett theory. To estimate the quantum effects, the analytical expression for the dielectric function of a metallic particle in the form of a parallelepiped has been used that was derived within the model of free electrons and potential well of infinite depth. The absorption coefficient has been calculated for composites with particles of various metals in various matrices.
