The average annual growth of the ph-thalic anhydride capacity in China was 9.03% from 1996 to 2003.After the completion of the first 10 000 t/a "70g process"phthalic anhydride unit there was once an investment upsurge and the annual growth of the capacity reached around 13% from 1998 to 1999.The successful development of the "80g process"20 000 t/a phthalic anhydride technology triggered another investment upsurge in 2001 and the annual growth of the capacity was 9.60%.With the steady expansion of the capacity,the output of phthalic anhydride made a constant increase.The average annual growth of the output was 15.99% from 1996 to 2003 and during that period the output made a rapid growth of 35.95% in 1999.
