摘要

Solid-state reactions upon mechanical alloying of iron and germanium powders in an atomic pro-portion of 50: 50 have been investigated by X-ray diffraction, Mossbauer spectroscopy, and thermomagnetic measurements. It was established that mechanical alloying occurs in three stages after the system reaches a nanocrystalline state. The types of arising structures and their characteristics were determined. The mechanisms of solid-state reactions and the direction of mass transfer upon mechanical alloying are discussed.
