TRUE LEGACY OF FLOODS COULD BE POLITICAL WRANGLING

The last two months have seen some parts of the country dealing with unprecedented wet weather and flooding. However, for growers the outlook has been mixed. In the east of England most areas have escaped serious problems thanks to a combination of less rainfall than other areas and light soils.Among the worst hit areas where the Thames valley, the South West and parts of Wales, while South-west Scotland also suffered. In Wales, Minister for Natural Resources and Food Alun Davies has asked for a review of the damage to coastal flood defences and the impact to coastal communities.
