NEW POTATO COUNCIL CHAIRMAN TAKES OVER AT A CHALLENGING TIME

"I am already well in to my new role as Chairman of the Potato Council (PCL) and have been able to absorb many key facets of the role during my first few months," says David Piccaver who took over the position from Allan Stevenson at the beginning ofApril. e is now also appointed a Board Member of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB). David Piccaver brings considerable industry and commercial experience and expertise to the PCL Chairman's position. He is currently a Director ofConcordia, an organisation supplying labour to the horticulture industry; was a Director of potato pre-packer QV Foods and was also earlier in his career a Board member of the former British Potato Council levy board. For 27 years he was Chairman of Lingarden, a company marketing bulbs, flowers and onions which had an annual turnover of 75 million at its height.
