Hubei Chuyuan Chemical Co.,Ltd. located in Shishou,Hubei province plans to invest RMB35.0 million in the construction of a 60 000 t/a sulfur-based sulfuric acid project,a 5 000 t/a tobias acid project and a J acid project. The environmental impact assessment is being publicly conducted today.The company's existing sulfuric acid facility using the pyrite process can not meet the captive need in its expanding production of dyestuffs and their intermediates,the company therefore intends to construct a new sulfuric acid project using sulfur as raw material in spite of the surging sulfur price.
