摘要

The disease complex Chiari-like malformation (CM) and syringomyelia (SM) is associated with the development of clinical signs suggestive of neuropathic pain and commonly affects Cavalier King Charles spaniels (CKCSs). There are little or no data aboutthe long-term outcome of non-surgical management in dogs with signs suggestive of neuropathic pain secondary to CM/SM. Overall the clinical signs suggestive of neuropathic pain progressed in three-quarters of the studied CKCSs with CM and/or SM; whereasa quarter of the dogs were static (14.5 per cent) or improved (10.5 per cent).
