California's Air Resources Board has fined 22 manufacturers, distributors and retailers of hair sprays and hair-styling products for exceeding the state's limits on volatile organic compounds. In a Jan. 8 release, the ARB says it has settled 25 separate cases over the past seven months for hair spray and styling products violating California's air-quality regulations, and the settlements have mitigated more than 36 tons of excess VOC emissions.
