L'Oreal SA execs believe that momentum behind the firm's double-digit sales and earnings growth in 2012 positions it to outpace competitors again in 2013. The French firm announced Feb. 11 that its fiscal 2012 sales were up 10.4% to $30.3 billion (?22.5 billion at $1.32 to ?1 exchange rate Dec. 31) and its profit advanced 17.6% to $3.9 billion (?2.9 billion), as it "once again demonstrated its ability to outperform the beauty market and to gain market share, even in the more difficult markets of Western Europe and the United States," Chairman and CEO Jean-Paul Agon says in a Feb. 11 release.
