Brooklyn-based Carol's Daughter is aiming to establish a national presence with a growth initiative that includes distribution in Sephora and the launch of additional freestanding stores,according to President Clarisa Wilson.The personal care brand will introduce more than 50 SKUs in 28 Sephora stores and on the beauty retailer's Web site March 1,the company announced Jan.20.The firm currently markets approximately 200 products through its Internet site,catalog and two stores in Brooklyn and Harlem,as well as in about 30 independent boutiques and salons.The Sephora deal is expected to help Carol's Daughter increase its consumer reach,the company said,citing the retailer's "legacy for launching and growing boutique beauty brands."
