California Delays Green Chemistry Regulation Due To Widespread Discontent

Due to "substantive and valid concerns" from industry, environmental groups, scientists and legislators, California's Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Toxic Substances Control have decided to delay enactment of a regulation that could lead to reformulation of many personal-care products. Linda S. Adams, head of the California EPA, offered insight into the agency's decision to rethink the Regulation for Safer Consumer Products, part of the state's Green Chemistry Initiative.
