Unilever says it is "fit to compete" in hair care and looks forward to the contribution of TRESemme and other brands it will gain through its acquisition of Alberto Culver, announced in September. During the firm's fiscal 2010 third-quarter earnings presentation, Chief Executive Officer Paul Polman said that while historically Unilever's performance in the hair-care category has been "patchy," now it is "making clear and measurable progress."
