Deepak Nitrite Targets Move Up the Value Chain

Specialty and intermediate chemicals producer Deepak Nitrite Ltd.(DNL;Pune,India) is moving up the value chain by starting to produce high-value intermediates for the Pharmaceuticals sector,in addition to the company's existing bulk intermediates,DNL tells newsmen.To facilitate the strategy,the company recently began to restructure its activities into three business units.They are specialties and fine chemicals,bulk organics and intermediates,and inorganics.DNL generates sales of more than 80 million/year,almost half of which are exports.Sales are growing 15%/year across the group,and exports are growing 25%/year.DNL has 900 employees.
