President urges pharmacists to rise to the challenge of therapeutic leadership

In his final congress speech as president of the International Pharmaceutical Federation, Dr Peter Kielgast called on pharmacists to take a "reality check", break free from their usual wait-and-see attitude and demonstrate that they are the ideal health care professional to take on the therapeutic leadership role made necessary by the powerful combination of information technology and gene technology that would be the basis for future phar-maceuticals development.
