New guidance to tackle antibiotic-resistant infections published for use in Scotland

How the NHS in Scotland can improve antibiotic prescribing and reduce the prevalence of resistant infections has been set out in new guidance published last week.It includes a recommendation that all NHS boards should appoint a lead antibiotic pharmacist who would be responsible for implementing and auditing good antimicrobial practice.
