I was a little surprised by Andy Langler's response to the legitimate concerns raised by Richard Eyles (PJ,17 September,p340).Mr Eyles suggests that the system currently in place for the collection of members' e-mail addresses is open to possible abuse and a member may unwittingly have an e-mail address registered in their name.In response,Mr Langer asserts that the e-mail addresses will only be used "in the short term" to disseminate information that is already in the public domain.
