Injection frequency does not affect treatment satisfaction

Patients'treatment satisfaction is not affected by whether injections are once-or twice-daily,a study presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes in Athens last month has shown.In the trial,233 insulin-naive people with type 2 diabetes were randomised to receive,along with met-formin,either twice-daily or once-daily insulin.More patients on twice-daily treatment reached HbA^c targets and the authors argue that a trade-off between patient satisfaction and treatment efficacy may not be necessary.
