Patented mandrel design uses radial dovetail key

Tube Bending Concepts Inc. has developed the new Duralink~TM mandrel design. According to the company, this patented linkage design adds strength and durability to universal flexing multiple-ball mandrels.This new design of the center link in a ball mandrel consists of two halves for assembly. Traditionally, the two halves are joined using a square key. This design replaces the square key with a radial dovetail key that locks the two halves of the link in place, preventing drift and helping limit subsequent breakage.
