1. The Global chemical industry is valued at US$2.5 trillion (2008) and employing more than 10 million people. The industry is comparable to Agriculture (US$2.8 trillion) and oil industry (US$2.8 trillion) and bigger than the Auto industry (US$1.3 trillion). 80% of the global production comes from -16 countries and it has registered an average growth rate of 4.6% (2002-07).
