Schuler, Inc., Columbus, Ohio, has broken ground for its new Hydroforming Tech Center in Canton, Mich. The facility is scheduled to open in early 2001.The Hydroforming Tech Center/Detroit will offer the same services as the Schuler Tech Center in Germany, namely, feasibility studies, part development, prototyping, and project planning. Based on the work done at the Tech Center, the company then can offer complete lines for volume production. Equipment for the hydroforming facility includes presses with capacities up to 10,000 tons for prototyping and small-lot production.
