Roll-Kraft, Willoughby, Ohio, has published a technical service bulletin in its "Profit Pointers" series titled Design Analysis of Tube Roll Tooling. The piece breaks down the roll tooling design process into nine sections: strip formation requirements in each pass; size range of the breakdown rolls; mill configuration; material gauge; strip formation by the side rolls; type of material; breakdown and fin pass design; fin pass and welder compatibility; and cosmetic requirements.
