Executive Chairman & General Secretary's Report to Annual General Meeting, 2009/10

At the time of last year's AGM we made the point that the future for the industry was somewhat unclear following the world financial turmoil. The theme of today's conference "Refractories.... the next decade" addresses some aspects of the future of the industry. Peter Rooney, our President, has put together a very interesting conference programme, and again we have a follow-on training course on Refractories for Steelmaking scheduled for tomorrow. There has been a good deal of interest in this course and places have had to be limited because of the structure and content of the learning package.
