The Use of SketchUp as a Design Tool for Battle Group Engineers, Troop Commanders and Recce Sergeants

SketchUp is a piece of computer software that can be used to model designs in 3D. This paper will look at how Trimble SketchUp has been trialled on Operation Herrick 16 by 33 Armoured Engineer Squadron. It will look at how the need arose, its strengths, its limitations and suggest future use and development should the Corps wish to purchase a commercial license and make its use common practice.
