An Approach to Counter Threat Operations within a Counter Insurgency Environment

Major Bickers commissioned into the Corps in 1999 having studied Civil Engineering at UMIST, Manchester. He completed RETCC 125 and commanded troops in 32 and 25 Engineer Regiments. He deployed on Operation Telic 6 with 26 Engineer Regiment as BGE 1 STAFFORDS before becoming Adjutant of 22 Engineer Regiment. His post as SO2 Counter Threat within HQ 1 Mechanised Brigade on Operation Telic 10 preceded his attendance on the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land) in January 2008.
