A battle royale is raging between the private and public sector fertiliser companies over the reported move to hike the price of phosphoric acid with an unaware Department of Fertiliser (DoF) caught in the crossfire.Some PSU fertiliser companies have already approached the department seeking its intervention in what they called the arbitrary decision by the Phosphoric Acid Consumer Group - India (PACGI) in collusion with the foreign suppliers to jack up the price of the raw material without any reason.
