I came back, after nine years in USA and joined IPCL in Vadodara in R&D Centre. Soon after, Shri Morarji Desai, then Prime Minister of India, came to IPCL for its inauguration in 1979. Since then many new petrochemicals plants have come up, making India fairly big petrochemicals and polymers producing country. The latest in this is inauguration of IOC refinery at Paradip, Odisha by present Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. The polymer production is now slated to double in capacity in next five years or so. Isn't this a big stride for Indian Chemical Industry? Or indeed for India?
