CEFIC REVISE 2011 FORECAST FOR EU CHEMICALS SECTOR OUTPUT

Growth in the EU chemicals industry in 2011 will be better than initially expected and will likely move towards more modest expansion in 2012, chemicals industry group Cefic has said. The European trade group revised upward its annual summary forecast of chemicals sector economists, predicting growth in 2011 to reach 4.5%, The revised forecast is nearly double the initial full-year forecast of 2.5% predicted last November. Cefic also announced projected expansion in 2012 for the sector to be 2.5%.
