Instrumentations Ltd and HMT -have tied up with overseas firm for collaboration in the field of machine tools, engineering tools, etc Taking Make in India initiative forward, four Indian PSUs have signed a collaborative agreement with overseas companies at Hannover industrial fair in Germany to boost domestic manufacturing of machine tools and other industrial equipment. Six memorandum of understanding (MoUs) were signed by Indian public sector companies with global firms, during a special event organised by Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC) at the India Pavilion in Hannover Messe 2015.

The collaborations analysed span academia, civil society and government, from the grassroots to the national and global levels. By locating these examples within the broader debates on interactions between researchers and research users designed to strengthen evidence informed decision making, this publication offers concepts and practices to inform those funding, designing and undertaking development research. The featured case studies are explored through the perspectives of both researchers and their partners in civil society and policy.
