Local electric furnace steelworks are planning to exert all efforts for the enhancement of their competitiveness in cost this year as they are expected to enter into keen sales competition amid a sever slump in construction activity. Particularly, those steelworks believe whether they can successfully change their structures toward the cost-saving and low-cost spending ones or not would affect the very fate of them and therefore, the role and weight of purchasing division of the steelworks are expected to become relatively heavier this year.
