China's HR No More Attractive with Price Exceeding 500 US dollars per Ton

It was confirmed that local steel service centers (SSCs) of hot-rolled coils (HR) would have no intention to import Chinese HR, if import price exceeds 500 U.S. dollars per ton (based on CFR). Taking into consideration the forthcoming arrival of a seasonal doldrums during the rainy period in summer from July through August in Korea and consequent weak demand for those products in the domestic market, local SSCs are saying that they do not have any particular reasons to excessively secure tonnage at present.
