In line with other chemical companies, Rohm and Haas Company saw its revenues and earnings decline last year following the economic downturn. Although the US-based specialty chemical company made a specific effort to shift its portfolio away from less cyclical markets through extensive restructuring in late 1990s, it has seen some serves at one time or another during the past three years. As it weathers the economic cycle, the company is proceeding with a cost-reduction program and continues to focus on technology and research and development in building its share in its five key business.
