Steel Pipe Makers Oppose NACF's Scheme to Reduce Purchasing Prices for Farming Pipes

The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) has set a policy to lower its purchasing prices for farming steel pipes but is faced with strong opposition from steel pipe makers over the price cut range and method. The NACF met with 20 farming steel pipe makers out of 22, which had made contracts with the NACF to supply farming steel pipes, to talk about a possible reduction range in the prices for farming steel pipes July 14. At the meeting on that day, the NACF suggested three ideas, that is, a flat cut of 9.2 percent, a graded cut in a range of 0-7 percent and other rates to be decided through its separate talks with each maker, but steel pipe makers strongly opposed them, saying that they are unable to take any of the three.
