Korea's Economic Growth Rate Expected to Post 5 percent Next Year

Eight major international banks including Goldman Sachs forecast that Korea's economic growth rate would reach the level of 5 percent next year, maintaining their earlier outlook. According to a recent report by the Seoul-based Korea Center of International Finance, the average forecast by BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, USB and Merrill Lynch on the Korea's economic growth rate in 2008 was tallied to be 5.0 percent, up 0.1 percent point from the previous forecast of 4.9 percent in June.
