Surging Oil Price Lifts Producer Price in February

Korea's producer price stretched an upward trend in February due to a surge in the international market prices for raw materials. The Bank of Korea (BOK) said March 6 in its report on the producer price trend in February, the producer price index for February marked 109.0 (based on 100 at 2000), and the producer price edged up 0.4 percent last month compared with the preceding month, getting up 3.2 percent higher than a year ago. It was the highest monthly gain in five months since the previous 0.4 percent climb in September 2004.
