HGI Production Capacity Increases 210,000 Tons in 2003

Five steelmakers build a 1.23-million-ton production system with new participation by Dong-Ah Steel in HGI industry. Total domestic annual production capacity of hot-rolled galvanized steel sheets (HGI) increased 210,000 tons last year compared with 2002. According to a recent survey conducted by the Korea Metal Journal, the total annual production capacity of HGI in Korea, which stood at the level of 1.02 million tons in 2002, was found to have become 1.23 million tons last year with a year-on-year increase of 210,000 tons.
