Large-scale revamping works of major plate makers in Asia are expected to continue, making it inevitable to see frustration in their supply, which will lead to severe plate supply shortage in Asian market. First of all, POSCO made a plan to conduct large-scale maintenance works on its Plate Mill I for 12 days and Plate Mill III for 34 days in September. Dongkuk Steel is also planning to carry out a 15-day facility maintenance work of its plate plant around the Chusok, the Full Moon Festival in Korea, in September. Accordingly, it seems unavoidable to see the frustration in supply of plates in September.
