Distribution Price of Thin gauge HR Shows Super-Strength

With an upward adjustment made for the extra price of hot-rolled coils (HR) with thickness less than 1.5mm, their selling price is showing an extremely bullish trend in the related distribution market. Thin gauge HR currently sells at 450,000 won per ton, posting an increase of about 20,000 won per ton from the previous price. But, the imbalance of supply and demand is getting deepened and is likely to bring about further price hike. Such a price increase of HR is due to an upward adjustment made for the extra price by 14,100 won per ton for those products with thickness less than 1.4 to 1.6mm, starting with the order input from January 1. Those products with the price raised on a shipment basis have not yet been in distribution, but the increase is being rapidly applied to the distribution market price due to short supplies. When the market enters mid-January and the products with the price applied upwardly are shipped out, the distribution market price of thin HR will rise further, the market observers forecasted.
