High-strength steel pipe struts developed jointly by POSCO and local steel pipe makers are expected to make a great contribution to large-scale civil works. Steel pipe struts, which is the steel structure that supports walls in the land-slide protection works for underground motorways, have been already commercialized in such advance counties as the U.S. and Europe, while only H-beams have been used for such purpose in Korea.
