Dongkuk Steel Expected to Start Up Dangjin Plate Plant in November Next Year

Dongkuk Steel, which is currently making facility investment in its plate mill at the fastest pace among local steelmakers in Korea, is expected to complete its Dangjin Plate Mill in November next year. Taking into consideration the fact that supply of plates for use in shipbuilding is absolutely insufficient to meet all demand in the domestic market and thus, how to secure plates has become the most serous issue particularly in the case of small and mid-size local shipbuilders, Dongkuk Steel is speeding up the construction of its new plate mill at Dangjin.
