POSCO to Conduct Second-stage Streamlining Works of Wire Rod Billet Mill

POSCO is scheduled to conduct the second-stage streamlining works of its wire rod billet mill for 40 days from November 16 through December 24. The wire rod billet mill of POSCO, where billets are turned out of blooms, got through the repair works for about two weeks in May, but the company plans toconduct the second-stage streamlining works before the end of the year comes. Once the company finishes the scheduled facility streamlining works, the production capacity of its billet mill willbe upgraded from the current1.96 million tons per year to 2.3 million tons, and furthermore, its output of semi-finished products for use in the production of high-grade wire rods with fine structure will sharply increase.
