POSCO HR SSCs Expected to Increase Distribution Market Prices/Attempting to raise the price on mini-mill products to 600,000 won in June

POSCO's abolition of so-called 'volume discount' system in the sales of its mini-mill products effective with shipments on June 1 is making it predictable that the primary distributors will attempt to increase their selling prices soon on those products in the distribution market. Under the volume discount system, those primary distributors who bought more than 5,000 tons of mini-mill products per quarter from POSCO used to get discount rates that go up in proportion of their purchase volume. However, due to the scrap of this discount system, POSCO's steel service centers (SSCs) of hot-rolled coils (HR) have become to have a factor to raise their prices by 10,000 won per ton on mini-mill products.
