In July, sales of domestic pre-painted steel sheets decreased at home and increased abroad compared with the previous month. Despite a drop in overall domestic sales, however, most major local makers of pre-painted steel sheets posted single-digit or higher growth rates in their July sales on a month-on-month basis, helped by their double-digit increase rates on the export front as a result of the concentration of their sales promotion on overseas market. Particularly, the revitalization of their overseas shipments bound for America and Europe was found to have led an increase in the entire offshore sales of their pre-painted steel sheets in July compared with a month ago.
