Cetuximab in NSCLC: another trial needed.

Cetuximab is the first anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) monoclonal antibody registered for clinical practice-initially for the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer and then for head and neck cancer. It has not been shown to have efficacy in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. The FLEX trial tested the addition of cetuximab to chemotherapy for patients with advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). The results of this trial did not convince the European Medicine Agency, which did not approve the drug's use in this setting
