Paclitaxel and carboplatin active in metastatic melanoma

Patients with metastatic melanoma might benefit from treatment with paclitaxel and carboplatin, according to US researchers (Cancer 2006; 106: 375-82). Lead investigator Ravi Rao (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN) says: "Melanoma is unfortunately one of the few cancers that has become more common over the last few decades, and when it becomes metastatic, there are very few treatment options".
