What's New--Denver Show 2014

There is an unusually wide spread of dates shown above for "the" 2014 Denver Show because, in fact, three Denver shows now exist to be chronicled in this space-not even counting the Denver Coliseum show, which is not covered here, as it is of much more interest to gemstone, lapidary and fossil enthusiasts than to mineral collectors. Three shows? Yes, there was of course the "Main Show," i.e. the 47th annual Denver Gem and Mineral Show, held this year on September 12-14 at the Denver Merchandise Mart; and there was Marty Zinn's Colorado Mineral and Fossil Show, held on September 8-14 at the recently renamed Ramada Inn (formerly the Holiday Inn-North) on Bannock Street. But there was, in addition, the debut of another of Dave Waisman's "Fine Mineral Shows," namely the Denver Fine Mineral Show, which was open from Saturday September 6 through Tuesday September 9 at the Denver Marriott West hotel, 1717 Denver West Boulevard in Golden-about a 15-minute drive from either one of the older venues just mentioned.
