摘要

In their recent article, "Assessment of head injury risk associated with feet-first free falls in 12-month-old children using an anthropomorphic test device," Thompson et al. used a 12 month child restraint air bag interaction anthropomorphic test device (CRABI ATD) to represent a toddler dropped/falling from basically a standing position with the body's center of gravity (CG) 18 inches (45.7 cm) above the linoleum over concrete floor. This would represent an approximate 27 inch (68.6 cm) fall distance for the CG of the head. They report the mean impact duration across all trials as 19.9 milliseconds, and they report linear head accelerations up to 130.6g and rotational head accelerations up to 11,894 rad/sec
