Concerns about the association between temperature and mortality in trauma patients.

We read with interest the retrospective study by Mizushima et al., which focused on the association between fever and mortality in critically ill, adult trauma patients without severe head injury. This association has been addressed to mixed intensive care unit population, but there is a dearth of data about this particular patient subgroup. Because the authors have not reported any study limitations, we wish to comment on some related issues.
